About the Opportunity
We're seeking an independent, results-driven sales professional to drive sponsorship revenue for our rapidly growing weekly business insights newsletter. Our 50,000+ engaged subscribers (40% open rate) receive micro-case studies spanning all business sectors. Each edition reveals the strategies, decisions, and market moves behind real business wins. This is a highly competitive outbound sales role, perfect for someone who thrives on the hunt, can confidently engage with executives and decision-makers, and wants significant earning potential with complete schedule flexibility. You'll own the entire sales cycle from initial outreach to close, with leadership support but complete autonomy in execution.
Not a fit if you: need daily direction, only close warm leads, struggle with rejection or independent work, or aren't comfortable pitching to senior executives and budget holders.
What You'll do
Prospecting: Identify and research potential sponsors across all business sectors.
Executive Outreach: Cold call, email, and engage with C-suite and senior marketing decision-makers.
Qualification: Assess budget capacity and campaign fit through discovery conversations.
Pitch & Close: Present compelling sponsorship opportunities and negotiate deals to closure.
Pipeline Management: Maintain a robust funnel of prospects at various stages.
CRM Ownership: Update and maintain all prospect interactions, deal progress, and activity metrics.
Campaign Coordination: Work with leadership to execute closed deals and ensure sponsor satisfaction.
Performance Tracking: Monitor key metrics, including meetings scheduled, conversion rates, revenue booked and generated.
Market Intelligence: Provide feedback on prospect needs and competitive landscape.
Who You Are
B2B Sales Background: Have 1+ years B2B sales experience with cold outbound success
Cold Outreach Comfort: Are comfortable making 20+ cold calls/emails per day
Executive Presence: Can confidently pitch to VPs, executives, and senior stakeholders.
Hunter Mentality: Self-motivated approach with persistence through rejection and sometimes long sales cycles
Expert Communicator: Strong written and verbal skills with executive-level polish
Independent: Thrives with minimal oversight and can structure own daily priorities
Sound Judgment: Can assess prospect fit, prioritize opportunities, and make strategic decisions
Results Oriented: Driven by measurable outcomes
